With cold and flu season setting in, you might have already had your first dance with a fever and treated it with medication, but a recent study in the Journal of Leukocyte Biology suggests the best way to deal with a mild fever might be to let it run its course.
We've known the fever is a part of the body's natural line of defense, but this most recent study reveals a fever works to make certain parts of the immune system work harder. This temporary enhancement provided by a fever might actually help you get over the flu more quickly than if you suppress it with medication.
