Harris Corporation Names Gregory Taylor Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Development

MELBOURNE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has named veteran business and technology strategist Gregory Taylor vice president of Corporate Strategy and Business Development, a new position within the company. In this role, Taylor will report directly to Harris President and CEO Bill Brown and be responsible for helping set the company's overall strategic direction, aligning investments to achieve strategic objectives and leading the company's business development including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and new market development.
In this new position, he will play a key role in establishing and aligning our overall strategic direction, investments and new market development for the future.
Taylor, 44, brings to Harris more than 23 years of experience in strategic planning, business development and general management. He joined Harris from United Technologies Corporation (UTC) where he held several senior leadership roles since joining the company in 2004. Most recently he served as vice president, Sales, Marketing, Strategy and Business Development for UTC Automation & Controls Solutions, where he was responsible for developing the business strategy and commercial structure for the newly formed unit. Previously he served in a similar role for UTC's $2 billion Global Fire Products division, where he led strategic planning, product development and emerging market growth initiatives.

Prior to joining UTC, Taylor served as senior vice president for Investor Growth Capital; vice president for George Group; consultant for Bain and Company; and design engineer for General Electric Astrospace, which now is part of Lockheed Martin Corporation.

He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University and in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University.

Greg's breadth of business and strategic experience will be a tremendous asset as we strive to build on our long track record of success, said Brown.
