It's all in the family at the Mabel Tainter | G.L. Berg Entertainment ...

G. L. Berg Entertainment, Performing Artists & Speakers has been pleased to work with The Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts in Menomonie, Wisconsin to present three acts for their fall performing arts season over the last two months. Cirko Cabaret, A Xelias Production performed their cirque show in late September, followed the next week by a capella sensation Tonic Sol-fa.? Comedian and story teller Mary Mack is scheduled to perform on October 20, 2012 at 7:30 a.m. in the theater of the Center, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts holds a place of special significance for several G. L. Berg staff and artists. CEO Gary Berg grew up in Menomonie and performed on the stage of the Mabel Tainter, first appearing in the play ?Oliver? in 8th grade. It was during the rehearsals for this play that he first met Warren Petryk, who played The Artful Dodger.

Warren is one of the members of the variety show group The Memories, who have performed an annual holiday show for over 30 years at the Mabel Tainter. Tim Stevens, who runs the Menomonie office of G. L. Berg, is the other half of The Memories, and you will have an opportunity to see their show again this year as they perform at the Mabel Tainter on December 15-16, 2012.

Gary performed in three additional plays over the next five years until he moved away to attend college. One of these plays included his performance of the lead role in the play ?The Black Friday,? which was written by John Russell, father of Steve Russell, who performs on the G. L. Berg roster as a comic juggler.

The Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts is a beautiful, historic building, and we hope you will be able to enjoy the many performances and activities available at this great facility.
