In the organisation development and change management cycle very often the start of the process, organisation diagnosis, reveals a number of problems and their causes or identifies a series of opportuntieis for growth and organisation development. It is at this stage that organisaiton leadership will begin to consider what the change management priorities are and what focus areas will be developed to make the necessary organisation improvements required to deliver organisation effectiveness and sustainable organisational performance.
A significant proportion of organisation development and change management focuses on designing, developing and delivering change management programmes which improve organisational effectiveness.
There are a number of key activities which are associated with leading and managing successful organisation development and change management programmes. These include;
- Motivating and creating the readiness for change
- Creating a vision for the future
- Developing support within the organisation for change to be successful
- Planning and Managing the transition phases of change
- Providing the resources required to sustain momentum.
