my walk with eden.com: high calorie foods for little toddlers.

If you remember way back in {this post}, Titus was a little underweight at his one year checkup. As he was at his 15 month checkup, and his {18 month checkup for a 20 month old baby} that we had last week:

So now we are back to the same speech: HIGH CALORIE FOODS. DO it.

In addition to the usual peanut butter/scrambled eggs/more dairy speech, the doctor also recommended PediaSure (which Titus tried all three flavors and did not like!) and a few additional suggestions:

bagels with cream cheese
extra cheese on pizza
ice cream (lots of it!) and yogurt
Carnation Instant Breakfast mixed with his whole milk
avoid low calorie drinks like water and juice
pancakes and French toast
pasta with olive oil and butter
bread sticks with hummus
bananas, raisins, craisins, dried apricots

Basically, cook everything with butter and top it with cheese. Sounds so gross, doesn't it?

One thing that the doctor did say was that she sees SO much obesity in children nowdays that the fact that he is smaller worries her less than if he were bigger. I think I would be worried either way!

Now that Titus is moblie (finally!) he is burning whatever he takes in. Heredity also seems to be playing a role in all of our smaller framed children. Do you have any suggestions that I am missing? Please leave them in the comments below. Would love to hear of anything else I can add to his diet to bulk this baby up! We are really hoping to get his weight up by his two year appointment in June.
