What Do President Obama and George Clooney Have in Common? (ContributorNetwork)

COMMENTARY | First it was George Bush. Then it was the private sector. After that it was Congress -- particularly Republicans -- the Arab Spring uprisings, a Tsunami in Japan and the European debt crisis. Even ATMs were to blame. Now Americans who use the internet are at fault for job losses. For a man who said he had to "take direct responsibility" for voter frustration that lead to the 2010 mid-term drubbing and that Americans are "tired of the talk," President Obama sure does spend a lot of time blaming everyone else for the results of his leadership.

Now, in an e-mail to his campaign supporters, shared with us by Business Insider, the president says he's "frustrated" with Congress.

"Friend," the email begins, "today I asked for a joint session of Congress where I will lay out a clear plan to get Americans back to work."

Of all of the dates and times available, he asked for a prime-time spot that just happened to conflict with the upcoming GOP debate, which has been scheduled for that time slot for months. Obama isn't frustrated about jobs, he's mad that Republican House Speaker John Boehner said "no."

If the president wanted someone to believe he is really concerned about creating jobs he would have asked for a joint session of congress before he went on another vacation to Martha's Vineyard or just skipped it all together. If the president wanted someone to believe he is serious about developing a plan to put Americans back to work he would have spent those "weeks of internal debate" working on "the details of the plan" rather than drafting documents designed to "shape public events" and to make sure that any "official statements" made on the tenth anniversary of 9-11 will focus the world's attention on himself, "his leadership team and his nation."

Now, embarrassed and "frustrated" that his efforts to steal attention from the GOP debate on Wed., Sept. 7 were thwarted Obama has decided it would be a good idea to move his speech to Thurs., Sept. 8 and embezzle viewers from the commencement of the 2011 NFL regular season.

Isn't this the president that George Clooney just said is "smarter", "nicer" and "has more compassion than almost anyone" we know?

"Next week, I will deliver the details of the plan and call on lawmakers to pass it," the president said further in his e-mail to his campaign supporters. "Whether they will do the job they were elected to do is ultimately up to them."

(Back at ya, Mr. President.)

"And we must hold them accountable if they don't."

Then, after the Associated Press reports "no net jobs" were added in August and revisions to the jobs data for June and July showed 58,000 fewer jobs were added than originally reported and that the Dow Jones industrial average sank more than 190 points and the average work week declined and hourly earnings fell... Obama - who just returned from vacation at Martha's Vineyard - has disappeared again for a little R&R at Camp David.

"I have a really good job," said Clooney, who plays a Democrat presidential candidate in the movie, "The Ides of March," which he also wrote and directed. "I get to hang out with very seductive people. So I have no interest."

Apparently, Obama feels the same way about his job of being president.
