Question by Gabby : Does anyone know why I have to pay city taxes where I work and Regional Income Tax where I live ?
I?m paying as much in federal taxes in city and regional level as I am. I also own a home and pay property taxes. Should not my city taxes taken out of my checks be Transferred to where I pay RITA?It is Ohio, but I?ve never seen a partial credit. I?ve been told you do not legally have to pay regional, but that does not sound right. Best answer:

Ohio?Local taxes in Ohio are very unique. In effect, you end up paying local taxes where you work AND where you live.Your work is required to withhold taxes based on the work location, but your home location only gives you partial credit for those taxes.
