Daily Kos: Discrimination Victims just Feel Sorry for Themselves and ...

Just to point out Steve King is far from alone in his argument, the State of Arizona has already banned all ethnic studies because they feel that it is too "divisive", and a judge upheld the law saying..

"However, teaching oppression objectively is quite different than actively presenting material in a biased, political and emotionally charged manner, which is what occurred in (Mexican-American Studies) classes," Kowal wrote.

The judge said such teaching promotes activism against white people, promotes racial resentment and advocates ethnic solidarity.

See, teaching people about their own heritage might make them resent white people - because of what (some) white people (may) have previously done to their ancestors and in some cases are still doing. ?Clearly, too much knowledge is a dangerous thing - for (some) white people, to let (any) brown people have.

All sarcasm aside: It's a truly supreme level of cultural narcissism to think that the only thing that can be learned in multicultural studies still revolves around white people. ?Sorry but the history and understanding of many people's in America does not begin and end with what "white people did to them". ?And even if it did, apparently Steve King thinks that history wouldn't have a single flattering moment in it for whites.

Poor Steve.

But is any of this the case in Iowa?

If you actually go to the website of Iowa State and type in "multicultural" you get a google powered search page worth of answers, and if you click on the first link it takes you here. The Multiculural Programs page at Iowa State which doesn't have a list of "Asian to Ziegiest" on it. ?In fact it doesn't have either of them on it.

If you mouse over the "Acadmics" button and click on the link that says "Majors and Programs" the list it produces is this:

Ok, so that's the entire list. ?I don't see "Asian" or "Zeitgiest" or anything like that in between. And I checked twice. ?Maybe I'm not so good with the interwebs as Steve King but it seems to me his dark bad evil list of Iowa State Victim Groups doesn't even exist.

So just to be clear I also checked the University of Iowa, typed in "multicultural" and then clicked on a link that mentioned "Diversity" that including the following list.

Afro-American Cultural Center

So logically speaking it becomes obvious that Steve King was Lying, because even though the UofI does mention "Asian" it doesn't mention it first because alphabetically "Afro-American" comes first, and still there's no "Zeigiest" because that doesn't even make any damn sense as a "group". ?Iowa State doesn't seem to have a list like that at all.

HE MADE IT UP. ?He just made the entire thing up. Just like Rick Santorum's claim that California Universities don't teach American History - it's just plain wrong. ?That's not what he found on the Iowa State Webpage, it's a Paranoid Fantasy that came from his own Imagination.

I mean as disgusting as what he said was on it's face, it's not even based on anything that's true. ?There is no such list of "Victim" groups, plus even when you can find a list that's vaguely similar - at a completely different university - you can't find anything in their information that is even remotely like what Steve King describes.

It's like the multiple Cadillac owning Welfare Queen whom President Obama is going to let go "without working", and the Zombie Voter who keeps showing up in various polling places without any ID and voting in the place of Dead People these College Victim Groups Don't Exist - this was a lie intended to drive a wedge between people who feel oppressed and threatened with paying more in taxes against the lazy, undeserving, slackers who are using racial entitlement and victimhood, to take your hard earned money away from you.

But it's a crock, a completely lie.

On top of there are more White people than Ethnic Minorities Benefiting from Welfare.

Among the poorest of the poor?single mothers, living below the poverty line with minor children to support 39.7 percent of AFDC clients are Black single mothers and 38.1 percent are White women with children. Food stamp recipients are 37.2 percent Black and 46.2 percent White. Medicaid benefits are paid to 27.5 percent Black recipients compared to 48.5 percent White clients.
So are all those poor-single white mothers "Victims" too?

And then there's to two biggest Welfare programs in the country Medicare and Social Security which have a very large majority of white people on their roles.

Are all the people on Medicare and Social Security trapped in "Victimhood"?

Perhaps they are "victims' only the false and bogus propaganda of people like King who points a finger racially at innocent brown people by presuming that those people are automatically pointing a finger back at whites, which may not be the case at all.

There is something to be said for standing on your own two feet. There's a nobility in that. ?But there is also no shame in reaching out for helping hand to bring you back to your feet when you've fallen down. That is a truism that goes far beyond race, ideology or "victimology".

9:21 AM PT: Just as a note: King said this happened on the Iowa State Website "Some Years Ago" - so that's leaves the possibility that what he claims he saw on the site, simply isn't there anymore. ?He went on his speech to talk about Saul Alinksi, not any of the actual ideology or philosophy of any of the groups at Iowa state. The International Student Council at Iowa State has posted ?the King Video and will be issuing a response soon.
